“Regal’s 2650 offers cabin comforts for four and a cockpit made for fun”
Motorboating Magazine did an interesting write-up for the 2650:

“The surge of power I felt when I pushed the throttles ahead on the Regal 2650 was more than just satisfying, it was downright revealing. Regal’s new cuddy cabin model was on plane in just over four seconds; the acceleration was comparable to that of the builder’s popular 27-foot bowrider, which is based on the same hull. You’d expect the additional weight of a cabin to compromise some of the 2650′s performance, but not on this cuddy.

Chalk up the boat’s speed to careful production engineering, as well as a patented, drag-reducing FasTrac stepped hull that pulls plenty of air under the running surface to help break the water’s hold on the bottom. Three sets of strakes forward and wide chines running aft from amidships provide a dry, comfortable ride across a broad range of conditions, and wonderful bite when you throw the wheel over into a turn. If you value precision handling on the road or on the water, the 2650 is sure to satisfy.

Our test boat was equipped with a 320-hp Volvo Penta sterndrive, propulsion that’s in the center of engine options available from Volvo and MerCruiser ranging up to 375 hp. At a cruising speed of 31 mph with test power, range for the 2650 is about 183 miles with a 10-percent fuel reserve. That means you’ll get about six hours of non-stop fun in the sun.

Fun is what the 2650 is equipped to deliver. There’s a wide, deep swim platform that extends well aft of the outdrive. Access to and from the cockpit is easier than normal because Regal’s designers put a nice, unobstructed fiberglass walkway on the port side.

A snap-in cockpit carpet is standard on the 2650, and so are docking lights, the transom shower and the cockpit table, which converts to a sunpad when it is lowered alongside the lounge and a filler cushion is put in place. These are a few of the items you’ll find on the list of standard equipment; in many cases, standard gear on the Regal would be optional on competitive boats. There’s also a molded entertainment center that includes a sink, a portable butane stove and a removable ice chest that makes it easy to transport food and drink. Open the locker beneath the driver’s bench seat and you’ll find a trash can close at hand.

The C-shaped lounge in the cockpit can accommodate four. There’s a single, sport-style seat forward to port, and a double-wide, adjustable seat for the driver. Both have flip-up bolsters for support when you want to get your line of sight above the steel windshield frame.

The cabin features two single berths that extend beneath the cockpit and wraparound seating that converts to a double berth. An overhead hatch, halogen lighting and a portable chemical toilet complete the cabin accommodations.

With fine performance and handling, a full-featured cockpit and a cuddy for overnighting, Regal’s 2650 is designed for families who love being on the water.”
