2007 Glastron GS 259 (76 hours)
FRESHWATER BOAT – ONLY 76 TOTAL LAKE HOURS
We just traded-in this very clean One-Owner 2007 Glastron GS 259 from the lake area of Central Florida.
She’s got extremely low hours (only 76 hours of total use) and is decked out with all the expensive upgrades and options such as the fuel-injected 280 hp Volvo Penta V8 w stainless steel duo-props, digital AC w reverse cycle heat, electric windlass, stern filler cushion, cockpit table, porcelain head, and more.
She’s an impressive mid cabin cruiser that sleeps 4 adults. With a full galley including microwave, hot water, stove, fridge, and sink, weekend getaways can easily turn into week-long stays in this 25-foot family-friendly versatile cruiser. The cabin V-berth converts to a double bed. Additional overnight accommodations are found in the rather spacious mid cabin that also sleeps 2. The head features a porcelain pump-out toilet, a vanity w sink and a shower. The cabin has a modern style and is brightly lit which, coupled with the mahogany laminate cabinetry provides an airy and comfortable atmosphere.

WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT THE GS 259 fr 2007
More Room Down Below – From a distance, you can easily assume that the GS 259 IS a bigger boat, its proportions are deceiving. While the designers did find some of the boat’s room in a higher freeboard, the boat’s graceful lines, and attractive graphics do very well to hide the height of this boat. On board packaging is just as impressive. The forward cabin has plenty of headroom, even for boaters a bit over six feet tall – no stooping needed. A large wide V-berth with a center insert makes for generous sleeping. When the V-berth insert is not needed, a small dining table can be easily installed.
The Galley – There is also an attractive galley finished in an elegant cherry laminate. It is complete with a refrigerator, stove top, microwave oven and freshwater sink. Also here is a AM/FM/CD Sirius satellite radio. All this is located on the port side just forward of the boat’s main electrical panel. That means, of course, that the electrical panel is easy to get to and use. Just aft of that is a compartment large enough to sleep two. The berth there extends under the main deck. It even has its own screened window.
Well-Configured Head – The full, standup head can be configured with an optional marine toilet, but it comes with a freshwater sink and shower. We particularly liked how the designers curved many of the corners in the head to make cleanup and maintenance a snap.
Deck Features – A three-step trip up to the main deck and there you find a roomy helm with full black on white instrumentation. There also are controls for the standard forward spotlight mounted on the leading edge of the bow guardrail. You can also equip the GS 259 with a stainless steel electric windlass to make raising and lowering the anchor a one-man job. We can tell you that the windlass will spoil you and your crew. The captain’s seat forms the forward part of the rear facing passenger seat. Like the narrow sun lounges in small runabouts, this large seat unfolds to provide a huge sun lounge. The forward passenger seat to port is a rear-facing sun lounge, but can accommodate two people when used as a seat. Just aft is a small entertainment station with a sink, handhold, and room for a portable cooler.
Stern Seating and Swim Platform – A removable rear bench seat fills out the stern. Removing this seat provides more walk around room when folks need it, say for fishing or wake boarding. On the starboard side is a handy little compartment with a built-in trash bin. Getting to the GS 259’s integrated ski platform at the stern is a through a walkway on the port side. Nearby the walkway is a freshwater shower nozzle and a compartment for controlling the boat’s batteries.
Impression – Glastron’s redesign of this popular and affordable express cruiser looks like it will pay off. The GS 259 offers sleek styling, plenty of room onboard, and an attractive, even luxurious cabin all in a boat that can be trailered and parked at home. It definitely should be on your short list of boats to see if you are in the market for a new express cruiser.

…Glastron’s new GS 259 demonstrates why the company is still going strong after 50 years.
Running the length of the lake is also an excuse to open up the GS 259…The 300-hp package running today works very well, and would be highly recommended as an upper-end package. With three people and half-tank of gas, the GS 259 accelerates from 0 to 30 mph in a little over 10 seconds (10.2) and keeps accelerating until it tops out at an even 48 mph.
The handling is better than the acceleration. Glastron has long been proud of its hull designs, and the GS 259 hull works like a champ. The boat feels light on the water, and responds quickly and positively to steering input, still riding very comfortably through chop and rougher water. Almost a contradiction in terms, but accurate: the GS 259 feels light when you’re really working the helm, but heavy and stable during easy cruising. Fun to drive and pleasant for passengers, this is a win-win situation.
…plenty of time to enjoy the GS 259’s cruising capacity, which includes enough room for a family of four to spend the night onboard, as long as each pair’s willing to share a bed. Step into the cabin and the spaciousness is surprising. The GS 259 is a true 25-footer, yet there’s enough headroom in the cabin for a 6-footer to stand tall and straight. The galley is workable for overnighting, or even whipping up some quick snacks on a long cruise. Although a 6-footer can stand comfortably in the cabin, he or she won’t be nearly as comfortable when trying to take a shower—the enclosed head doesn’t offer quite the headroom of the cabin—but there’s enough room to brush your teeth. That done, the tall folks (assuming there are only two of them) can sack out on the v-berth while the short fry wedge into the mid berth.
While the cabin is roomy for a trailerable 25-footer with an 8-foot-6-inch beam, the best place to be on the GS 259 is above deck. There’s plenty of room to move around up top. Not enough room to host a 15-person cocktail party, but enough for that family of four to hang out (without invading each other’s space) or for a crew of friendly watersports lovers to come along for an afternoon’s session.
There is little discouraging feedback about the GS 259. The only thing anyone would change would be to add an option or two, like an electric anchor windlass and dockside air-conditioner and heater. And for overnighting, go with the 13-inch flat screen TV/DVD. It’s no Batboat, true, but the GS 259 is a prime example of why Glastron is celebrating its 50th anniversary—it’s building good boats.
