79 total hours on her 4.3L Alpha I MCM Sterndrive w/Turn-Key Start (190 hp – 142 kW) – a fuel efficient, yet peppy engine that gets on plane in less than 3 seconds and tops out at 50.5 MPH. At 3000 RPM she cruises at 30.9 MPH with a fuel economy of 4.86 MPG.

The 185 Sport was redesigned by Sea Ray in 2006 and the first noticeable difference from older models is the new bow seating arrangement. Rather than wrapping a bench around, Sea Ray designed 2 comfortable corner seats – leaving the front with gel coated awl grip for easy access from the bow. The cockpit includes a huge padded center locker in the floor for gear. The companion pod has a glove box which houses the Clarion CD stereo. The drivers’ and companion area have high-backed, adjustable bucket seats. The helm has the instruments arranged for easy view, and a digital depth gauge prominently positioned in the center to keep an eye as you approach your favorite mooring place. The switches are aircraft-style stainless steel, lighted on the tips so you quickly can identify what is what after dark. There’s even a 12V outlet socket under the dash for your portable gear.

The gull wing sun pad on this model really stands out (not often seen on smaller boats). This style opening makes it very easy to get to the engine check points from both the swim platform and from the the cockpit. There are also large spaces on either side of the engine for storage.
